Christian Adorno Bard was born in Genoa to an Italian father and a Luxembourgian mother. From his earliest days he manifested a talent for both stage and cinematic expression, which grew to be his guiding passion in his school years, and is always primary in his mind.
To please his father he studied medicine in Italy, but finally decided to become an actor. It was in France, in Lille, that this enthusiasm was formed, and thanks to some perceptive critics he was encouraged to go to Paris. There, he quickly came in contact with the world-class theaters in the Banlieue district, as well as those in Paris Center. Playing minor roles in small contemporary troupes, he brought to the stage a myriad of characters in the French and English repertoire. His capacity intensified for analyzing and constructing various characters as written by the greatest writers and poets.
His break came in 1991, performing Shakespeare. He was given the opportunity to play three protagonist roles one after the other: Hamlet, Romeo and Richard III. Subsequently, he decided to move back to Italy. There he grew an interest in television as well as cinema. He appeared in some daytime shows, and then was asked to return to Rome to appear on the stage.
There, in "Back and Forth through Heaven" by Luciano Prosperi, directed by Geppi Di Stasio, he created the unforgettable role of "The Honorable Arraffa,” a satiric character taken from the real life of politics. Drawn from what he learned from Shakespeare’s deeply human characters, Christian invented an extremely real person in Arraffa, characterizing him with three small, singular gestures typical of a wheeler-dealer politician. In one memorable gesture of marking time on his watch, Christian sketched a deep, full-fledged character taken from life that remained in the audience’s memory long after the show was over.
Once again in France, he made hid debut in musical theater with the operetta “The Land of Bells” by Carlo Lombardo and Virgilio Ranzato, in the role of "The Gaffe", acting, singing and dancing. He returned to Italy in “Cetrovetrine” in the role of the banker Antonio Midiri. He is now working on a new theater piece, “Mrs. President of Hennequin and Weber” in the role of Benito.
